Erling Haaland was on fire on Tuesday night as he scored five goals in Norway’s 11-1 win over Moldova. The Manchester City striker showed his class again, just days before the big Premier League derby against Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
Haaland wasted no time, getting a hat-trick in just 37 minutes, then adding two more after halftime. With those goals, he now has nine goals in the World Cup qualifiers – more than any other player.
Norway are flying at the top of their group with 15 points from 5 games, scoring 24 goals and letting in only three. Rangers midfielder Thelo Aasgaard also bagged four goals, while Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard and Felix Horn Myhre added their names to the scoresheet.
Haaland’s amazing form is bad news for United coach Ruben Amorim, as the striker has a record of scoring against United in past derbies. City fans will be buzzing, but United have every reason to worry ahead of Sunday’s showdown.
