Joao Pedro Joins Chelsea in Stunning £60M Switch from Brighton

Chelsea have officially signed Brazilian striker Joao Pedro from Brighton & Hove Albion for £60 million.
The 22-year-old footballer has joined the team on a long contract that will last until 2033. He’s already with the Chelsea squad in the United States as they get ready to play Palmeiras in the Club World Cup quarter-finals.
The club shared the exciting news with fans using a fun samba-themed video.
Reports say Chelsea had to beat Newcastle United and other clubs who also wanted to sign him.
Joao Pedro played very well for Brighton last season. He scored 10 goals and gave 6 assists in the Premier League. His great performance even got him noticed by Brazil’s national team ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Speaking to Chelsea’s website, Joao Pedro said:
