Maresca Hints at Caicedo Return, Teases Joao Pedro’s Role for CWC Final

Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca has shared some good news before the big FIFA Club World Cup final against PSG — star midfielder Moises Caicedo is back in training!
Speaking on Friday during a press conference at MetLife Stadium, Maresca said:
“Moises is an important player for us. He trained this morning, and I hope we can use him on Sunday.”
Caicedo’s return is great news for Chelsea fans, as the team prepares for the final match of the 32-team Club World Cup in New Jersey.
Maresca also talked about Joao Pedro, who scored both goals in Chelsea’s 2-0 win against Fluminense in the semi-final. He praised the Brazilian striker for his skills:
“Joao is a great player. We brought him to the club because he’s good at playing against teams that defend a lot. He’s smart and quick in tight spaces.”
However, Maresca didn’t say for sure if Joao Pedro will start the final. He said the team has many attacking players to choose from and they will decide closer to the game.
“We have 48 hours before the final, and we are lucky to have many good players. We’ll see who plays.”
He also praised the good spirit in the team right now:
“The mood in the dressing room is fantastic. The players are proud of how far they’ve come.”
Chelsea will face Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on Sunday, and the winner will be crowned 2025 FIFA Club World Cup Champion.
