A close friend of the late singer Mohbad, known as Spending, has spoken out about rumours that he is the real father of Mohbad’s son, Liam.
Recently, many people on social media have been saying that Liam looks a lot like Spending. This made some think that Spending might be Liam’s father. The talk online got so serious that it caused a lot of arguments and gossip.
But on Monday, July 14, 2025, Spending posted on his Instagram story to clear the air. He said the rumours are not true and that people should stop spreading lies. He made it clear that he never had any romantic relationship with Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi.
Spending said he’s very upset about these false stories and told bloggers to stop pushing the wrong information. He also said he’s open to taking a DNA test to prove that he is not Liam’s father.

“I’ve been seeing several bloggers saying I’m Liam’s father. This is not funny at all! I want everyone to know that I’m not his father and I never had any love relationship with his mum. Please stop spreading these fake stories. I’m happy to take a DNA test if needed.”
Mohbad’s Dad Speaks on What Happened Before His Son Died
Meanwhile, Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba,has shared more details about what happened before his son passed away. He said many strange things happened and he feels like he was not told the full truth.
In a chat with popular social media figure VeryDarkMan (Vincent Otse Martins), Mr. Aloba said he got a call from Mohbad’s mother around 4:30 p.m. on September 12, 2023 . She told him that Mohbad was very sick and had been taken to the hospital.
He said he quickly told her to meet him so they could go to the hospital together. But when they got to Osapa London, Mohbad’s uncle, Darosha, told them not to worry – that Mohbad was getting better.
“Iya Mohbad called me around 4:30 p.m. and said our son was sick and in the hospital,” he said.
“I told her to come meet me so we could go together,” Mr. Aloba added.
“When we got there, Darosha said Mohbad was doing fine and there was nothing to worry about.”
But later on, things changed suddenly, and the singer sadly passed away, which raised even more questions.
