Nigerian Theatre Goes Global: Creative Strategist Hosts Sold-Out London Show

In the world of entertainment, most people only see the stars on stage. But behind the scenes, some people work super hard to make everything happen. One of those people is Oluwagbotemi Moshood – a creative strategist and PR expert who is making big moves quietly!

Recently, Oluwagbotemi helped bring a Nigerian play called ‘Dear Father’ to London – and guess what? All six shows were completely sold out! The play, which starred famous Nigerian actors like Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), Kunle Remi, Tobi Bakre, Ronke Ojo, and Idia Aisien, pulled in over 5,000 people in just two days at Woolwich Works in London.

But the big moment didn’t start in London – it started back home in Nigeria.

As the Head of Marketing and PR, Oluwagbotemi worked on the project right from the beginning. He created fun and interesting content for each actor, planned social media campaigns, and got people excited about the show both online and in real life.

One of the coolest parts of the campaign was when Oluwagbotemi and his team went to the streets of Abeokuta and Ibadan, asking everyday Nigerians deep questions like: “What does fatherhood mean to you?” These real-life stories made the play feel even more emotional and powerful.

He didn’t stop there! Oluwagbotemi also used that trip to film a video for a brand pitch in a special historical place.

When it was time for the London shows, Oluwagbotemi flew over and kept working hard. He helped plan radio interviews with The Beat FM London and TemsTalks, organized meet-and-greet events for fans, and even jumped on stage himself as an extra during a wedding scene!

In his own words, Oluwagbotemi said:
“For me, this wasn’t just a job. It was a love letter to Nigerian culture.”

What a journey! We love to see Nigerians doing great things around the world. Big shoutout to Oluwagbotemi for showing that you don’t need to be on stage to shine bright!
