Popular Afrobeats star, Burna Boy, whose real name is Damini Ogulu, might be getting ready to settle down soon. The Grammy-winning singer recently got people talking when a video of him showing off a big, shiny ring on his wedding finger popped up online.
Wearing all black, Burna Boy looked stylish as usual — but it wasn’t just his outfit that caught people’s attention. It was the ring! He said the ring cost a whopping $2 million, and it means a lot to him.
Burna said any woman who wants to marry him must come prepared, because he already bought himself a ring. “Show me one woman that could’ve put this ring on my finger. This is what my marriage is worth,” he said. “If you want to marry me, bring a ring better than this one. Only then will I love you, and maybe we can have kids.”
Burna Boy has always said he wants to build a family someday, but it looks like he’s taking it more seriously now. During his birthday on July 2, 2025, he joked about becoming a father. He said a friend made him start thinking about his life, and he admitted, “I’m getting old. I should start having kids.”
This isn’t the first time Burna has talked about this. In a video in 2024, he said he didn’t want to have children yet because he couldn’t give them the kind of love his parents gave him. “Have you seen how my mum and dad love me? I can’t give that to a child right now with the kind of life I live,” he explained.
Back in 2020, he also tweeted something similar. He said he wants to be just as good a parent to his kids as his parents were to him and his sisters. “Until I know I can be stable and settle down with the right woman, I won’t have kids,” he said.
