Done Deal: Benjamin Šeško Commits to Manchester United Until 2030

Benjamin Šeško is now a Manchester United player after signing a five-year contract with the club.

The Red Devils will pay RB Leipzig an initial £66.3 million (€76.5m), with an extra £7.37 million (€8.5m) to come if Šeško meets certain performance targets.

The 21-year-old striker arrived in Manchester on Friday for his medical tests. Since everything was completed quickly, he might be officially shown to fans at Old Trafford today (Saturday) when United play Fiorentina in their last pre-season game.

Newcastle United also wanted Šeško. They even made a second offer of £69.7 million plus add-ons, which was more than United’s bid. But Manchester United refused to get into a bidding war. Instead, they agreed to pay less money up front, which Leipzig accepted.

Šeško’s strong wish to play for Manchester United was a big reason the transfer happened.
