Brighton Boss Breaks Silence on Selling Top Players to Chelsea

Brighton & Hove Albion’s CEO, Tony Bloom, has spoken about why he keeps selling his best players to Chelsea.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Bloom joked that Chelsea are his “best customer” because they always come back to buy more players from Brighton.

The latest deal saw Brazilian striker Joao Pedro move to Chelsea this summer for £50 million. Pedro, who impressed at the Club World Cup, chose Chelsea instead of joining Newcastle United.

When asked if there’s a special link between the two clubs, Bloom said:

“We wish Joao well. And, you know, Chelsea have got loyalty points with me. They keep coming back.”

In recent years, Chelsea have signed several Brighton stars, including Marc Cucurella, Moises Caicedo, and Robert Sanchez.
