Popular TikTok influencer, Peller, says the Lagos State Government wants him to pay a huge ₦36 million in tax. He shared this news during a live chat with Nigerian singer Peruzzi.
Peller became famous just last year and says he doesn’t have that kind of money. “They said I should pay ₦36 million for tax. I don’t even have anything. I only became famous last year,” Peller said sadly.
During the live video, Peruzzi reminded Peller that all Nigerians are supposed to pay tax. He even said that his own tax is more than what Peller was asked to pay. “You have to pay your tax, bro. It’s the law,” Peruzzi told him. He also advised Peller to talk to the tax office and ask for more time to pay.
But Peller still thinks the amount is too much. He said the government never helped him when he was growing his TikTok page. He feels they are only coming after him now because he showed off his success online.
Peller also said most of his money comes from social media, not from jobs in Nigeria.
