Bassey Fumes: United Goal Shouldn’t Have Stood in Fulham Draw

Calvin Bassey believes Manchester United’s first goal against Fulham should not have counted because he was pushed during the play.
United scored just before the 60th minute when Leny Yoro headed Bryan Mbeumo’s corner. The ball hit Rodrigo Muniz and went into Fulham’s net for an own goal.
But Fulham players were angry, saying Yoro pushed Bassey in the back before jumping.
After the 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage, Bassey said:
“I couldn’t jump properly because he pushed me. That gave him an advantage. For me, it should have been a foul. When the referee watches it again, they will see it wasn’t right.”
The Nigerian defender also added that he couldn’t say too much to avoid getting fined but repeated that the push stopped him from winning the ball.
Earlier in the match, Bassey gave away a penalty to Manchester United, but Bruno Fernandes missed it, shooting over the bar.
Later, Fulham’s Emile Smith Rowe came off the bench and scored with his first touch, turning in Alex Iwobi’s cross to make it 1-1.
The draw means Manchester United are still without a win in the Premier League this season. Their next game is in the Carabao Cup against Grimsby Town on Wednesday.
