Nwabali Confident Super Eagles Will Soar Past South Africa

Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali believes Nigeria has what it takes to defeat South Africa in their big 2026 World Cup qualifying match in Bloemfontein on Tuesday.

Nwabali, who plays for Chippa United in the South African league, said he trusts the quality of players in the Nigerian team and is confident they are ready for the tough clash at the Free State Stadium.

“I believe we have a very strong squad that can face any country. South Africa is doing well and they are top of the group, but we respect them. Still, I know we will come out strong,” Nwabali told reporters.

The goalkeeper explained that games against Nigeria are always different from other matches.

“You can watch South Africa play against Lesotho, Zimbabwe, or Rwanda and it looks one way. But when they face Nigeria, it’s always a different game. The same thing happens when other countries face us,” he said.

Even though South Africa has a strong home record and is leading Group C, Nwabali believes the Super Eagles can still grab all three points.

“It’s going to be a tough game, but I strongly feel we will win,” he added with confidence.
