Gabriel’s Late Header Sparks Arsenal’s Dramatic Comeback vs Newcastle

Arsenal made their fans happy at the Emirates on Saturday with a 2-1 comeback win against Newcastle, thanks to a goal in the 96th minute from Gabriel.

The win takes Arsenal closer to the top of the Premier League table. They are now just two points behind leaders Liverpool, who lost 2-1 to Crystal Palace the same day.

 

Newcastle score first

Newcastle surprised everyone when Nick Woltemade scored with a header, just after Arsenal were denied a penalty that many thought should have been given.

 

Arsenal fight back

Arsenal kept pushing and finally got their equaliser in the last 10 minutes when Mikel Merino scored with a header.

Then, deep into stoppage time, Gabriel jumped highest from a corner to head the ball into the net, completing Arsenal’s comeback.

 

Title race gets hotter

This win keeps Arsenal very much in the title race, now only two points behind Liverpool. But for Newcastle, the loss means they still have work to do if they want to stay consistent this season.
