Atlético Accuse Referees of Bias Following Loss to Barcelona

Atlético Madrid have complained about how referees handled their 2-1 loss to FC Barcelona in a La Liga match. They said some decisions during the game were not fair.

The biggest moment happened when the referee, Busquets Ferrer, first gave a red card to Barcelona player Gerard Martín. But after checking VAR (video replay), he changed it to a yellow card.

Atlético were not happy about this. They believe that decision affected the result of the match.

The club has now asked Spain’s referee body, the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA), to explain why the decision was changed. They said it feels like different rules are being used at different times.

One club source said: “It’s hard to compete when you are told one rule, but something else happens on the field.”

Atlético also said this is not the first time. They believe similar referee issues happened in their recent games against Real Madrid and Barcelona.

They also talked about VAR, saying it is causing more confusion instead of helping referees make better decisions.

The team’s coach, Diego Simeone, supports the club. He wants the officials to clearly explain what happened.

Even though they are upset, Atlético said they still respect referees and are not trying to insult them.

This situation has added more pressure on referees in La Liga, especially about how VAR is used.

For Atlético, they just want clear and fair decisions as the league title race continues.
