Liverpool are now in a difficult position after losing 2-0 to Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final in Paris.
PSG started the game very well and scored early. In the 11th minute, Desire Doue found the net with a shot that took a small deflection and went over the goalkeeper, Giorgi Mamardashvili.

Liverpool tried to stay strong, but they struggled to attack. They did not have a single shot on target during the whole match.
Later in the game, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored a beautiful goal after going past the goalkeeper to make it 2-0 for PSG.
PSG continued to control the match and created more chances. Ousmane Dembele had some good opportunities but could not score, even hitting the post once.
Liverpool also had some defensive problems. Ibrahima Konate was lucky not to give away a penalty after a VAR check changed the referee’s decision.
This result makes things harder for Liverpool and their coach, Arne Slot, especially after their recent heavy loss to Manchester City.
In the match, Alexander Isak returned from injury, but he could not do much to help the team.
Liverpool will now have to fight hard in the second leg at Anfield if they want to stay in the competition.
