Barcelona had a tough night as they lost 2-0 at home to Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final.
The match was played at the Spotify Camp Nou, and Barcelona started well. They created some good chances early in the game but could not score.
Marcus Rashford was very active in attack, but he could not find the net. Atletico’s goalkeeper, Juan Musso, made some great saves to keep his team safe.
The big moment came just before half-time. Pau Cubarsí was shown a red card after a VAR check for stopping a clear chance to score. This made things harder for Barcelona because they were now playing with 10 men.

Atletico quickly took advantage. Julián Álvarez scored from a free-kick to give his team the lead.
In the second half, Barcelona tried to control the game even with one player less. Their coach, Hansi Flick, made some changes, but the team still could not score.
Atletico got stronger and scored again in the 70th minute. Alexander Sørloth finished a nice cross from Matteo Ruggeri to make it 2-0.
This result gives Atletico a big advantage before the second leg at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.
Barcelona now have a very difficult task if they want to come back and win.
