Barcelona Delay Ter Stegen Return to Ease Wage Bill Pressure

Barcelona are telling La Liga that their goalkeeper, Marc-André ter Stegen, will be out injured for four months—even though the player said he hopes to return in three.
Why are they doing this? It’s a smart move to help the club save money and make room to register new players.
According to a report from AS, Barcelona have finished all the medical paperwork with the help of the doctor who operated on Ter Stegen’s back, Amelie Leglise.
The club will send this file to La Liga’s medical team very soon. If La Liga agrees, Barcelona will be allowed to free up 80% of Ter Stegen’s salary. This will let them use that money to sign or register new players during his time out.
