“Bring Back Guehi! Chelsea Told Move Could Spark Title Push”

Chelsea have been told they can fight for the Premier League title this season if they bring back their former defender, Marc Guehi, from Crystal Palace.

This advice comes after bad news for Chelsea — defender Levi Colwill will miss many months of the new season starting this weekend because of a serious knee injury (ACL).

Manager Enzo Maresca said signing a new central defender is now “a priority,” calling Colwill “a fantastic player” whose absence will be a big loss for the team.

TalkSPORT presenter Adrian Durham believes Guehi could make all the difference.

“If Chelsea get Marc Guehi back from Crystal Palace, I think they can win the league,” Durham said, adding that Chelsea must fix their defence to compete with the top teams.

Guehi, 25, has only one year left on his Crystal Palace contract. The club might sell him now so they don’t lose him for free next summer. Chairman Steve Parish admitted they may have to cash in, as previous bids were rejected for timing and squad reasons.

The England defender played 34 league games last season and even helped Palace win the FA Cup. Guehi grew up at Chelsea’s academy, spending 14 years there, and made two senior appearances before joining Palace in 2021.

So far this summer, Chelsea have already spent over £240 million on eight new players, including defenders Mamadou Sarr and Jorrel Hato. But Sarr has been sent on loan to Strasbourg.
