Chelsea Held by Crystal Palace in Goalless EPL Opener

Chelsea kicked off their Premier League season with a 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace in a London derby at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

The Blues got lucky in the first half when Eberechi Eze’s powerful free-kick goal for Palace was cancelled after a VAR check showed that Marc Guehi had fouled a Chelsea player in the build-up.

Chelsea struggled to create real chances in attack. Most of their corners were easily defended by Palace, and Cole Palmer could not make much impact up front.

New signing Estevão Willian added some spark when he came on for Jamie Gittens, making a few good runs on the wing. But even with his energy, Chelsea could not break down Palace’s strong defence.

In the end, Chelsea avoided a big scare but were left frustrated as they continue to search for more sharpness in front of goal.
