Creativity Runs Deep — Time to Unleash

For Biodun-Kareem Emmanuel, who goes by the name Unleash, music is not just something to hear in the background — it feels like his true calling. His music journey started with a special gift from his mom: a piano.
“After my mom bought me the piano, I had to learn how to play it at church. From that moment, music stopped being just a hobby and became something I really loved. I always wanted to get better,” he said.
Because he wanted to grow, Unleash moved from just playing music to making music. He became a music producer. He loves to listen to the ideas singers and artists bring to him because he knows he doesn’t have all the answers. “My job is to help make their ideas come alive,” he said.
Unleash’s favorite music style is Afro-fusion. This means mixing African beats with sounds from other parts of the world. He gets his inspiration from God, his own life story, and a famous African musician called Fela Kuti. Unleash believes Afro-fusion is just getting started and will become popular everywhere. “Afro-fusion is the new trend, and it will help Afrobeat music become famous all over the world,” he said.
He also says his creativity comes from remembering where he comes from. “Thinking about my roots motivates me. I also listen to new songs, and that helps me stay creative and try new things,” he explained.
You can feel his feelings in his music. In one of his recent works, he sang about love, heartbreak, obsession, addiction, and finding love again.
But Unleash doesn’t stop with music. He also loves art and is learning about making movies. He says it’s not easy but very exciting. “If you really want to do something, it will keep pushing you until you do it. It’s not easy to do many things at once, but that’s why we are called creatives,” he said.
