Marcus Rashford has officially joined Barcelona on loan from Manchester United, and the Spanish club has the option to buy him later.
The 27-year-old forward becomes Barca’s second big signing of the summer. He’s coming from a tough time at Manchester United, where he faced lots of ups and downs and off-field issues.
This is also Rashford’s second loan move — he spent the second half of last season playing for Aston Villa.
At his official unveiling in Barcelona, Rashford looked excited about this new beginning.
> “I’m happy to be here. I’m ready to work hard,” he said. “I’m excited to live in a new city, play in a new league, and face new teams.”
He also admitted that things had been tough recently, but he feels better now.
> “I’ve brought back discipline to my life and football,” Rashford said. “I feel happy, healthy, and ready to give my best.”
When asked about former England star Gary Lineker saying Rashford wasn’t the real problem at Manchester United, Rashford kept it respectful.
“Manchester United is a big part of my life and career,” he said. “I don’t have anything bad to say. I just wish them good luck.”
