Nigerian DJ and activist,DJ Switch, whose real name is Obianuju Catherine Udeh, has spoken out after the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday, July 13, 2025.
After hearing the news, DJ Switch shared a short message on her Instagram story. She wrote:
“Wow! The sweet reality of inevitability. RIP MF. One down.”
Her post quickly got people talking online. Some Nigerians were angry and said she was happy about his death.
DJ Switch later posted a video to explain her message. She said she wasn’t celebrating Buhari’s death, but was only reminding people that everyone, no matter how rich or powerful, will die one day.
She also talked about how life was hard for many Nigerians during Buhari’s time as president. She said:
“Some people are saying he achieved things. But what did he really achieve? He used our money and resources. He got the best healthcare abroad, while many Nigerians are poor and can’t even get proper treatment at home.”
DJ Switch also said that many rich people in power don’t face the same dangers as normal Nigerians because they have bodyguards and travel in secure cars. She believes Buhari didn’t do enough to help the people, and instead, left many Nigerians suffering, hungry, and unprotected.
