Dortmund on the Brink of Chukwuemeka Coup

Borussia Dortmund are getting ready to sign two young midfielders – Carney Chukwuemeka from Chelsea and Facundo Buonanotte from Brighton – as they prepare for the 2025/26 football season.

According to Sky Sports and popular transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Dortmund will soon send an official offer to Brighton for Buonanotte. Talks for a loan deal for Chukwuemeka are also going well.

Chelsea are now willing to sell Chukwuemeka for around €25 million, which is cheaper than their earlier asking price of €35–40 million. Romano also said that Chukwuemeka has already agreed to personal terms with Dortmund.

So far this summer, Dortmund have only made the loan deals for Yan Couto and Daniel Svensson permanent. They also signed Jobe Bellingham, the younger brother of Jude Bellingham.

If they complete the Chukwuemeka and Buonanotte deals, it would be a big step forward for the club’s transfer plans, led by Sebastian Kehl.

There are also quiet talks going on about Jadon Sancho possibly coming back to Dortmund.

Dortmund will start their season on August 18 in a DFB-Pokal game against third-division team Essen. The club is working hard to finish their transfer deals before that match.
