Felix Agu reflects on Super Eagles call-up, speaks of love for Nigerian cuisine

New Super Eagles invitee, Felix Agu, has described his maiden call-up to the Nigerian national team as a deeply emotional and proud moment.

He highlights it as a long-awaited opportunity to connect with his Nigerian heritage.

The 25-year-old Werder Bremen defender, born in Germany to Nigerian parents, recounted his early conversations with the Nigeria Football Federation and Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle.

“I had the first contact with the Federation. I right away wanted to speak to the coach… Once we had the call, it was a pretty easy decision for me to come here,” Agu told the Super Eagles media team in London.

Agu expressed gratitude for the warm reception from teammates and staff since joining the camp.

“Everyone accepted me pretty well. We’ve already had a training session, and I’m enjoying my time. I’m happy to be called up.”

He acknowledged the significance of representing Africa’s most populous nation.

“It’s the biggest African nation. Everywhere you go, you meet Nigerians. To represent a country like this is the biggest honor.”

Off the pitch, Agu revealed his love for Nigerian food, sharing how he keeps the culture alive while living in Germany.
