Gyokeres Sacrifices €2M Salary to Force Arsenal Move

Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres has given up €2 million from his salary just to speed up his move to Arsenal.

According to a report by Record, Gyokeres didn’t show up for pre-season training with his current club, Sporting. He is very eager to join the North London team as soon as possible.

This move comes after Arsenal stopped chasing Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig because of high price demands. Now, Gyokeres has become their main target.

Arsenal and Sporting have been in talks for months. The delay was mainly because Sporting wanted Arsenal to pay the full €80 million release clause in Gyokeres’ contract. But now, since the Swedish striker is willing to lose some of his own money, both clubs are close to agreeing on the transfer.

Since joining Sporting from Coventry City, Gyokeres has scored an amazing 68 goals and made 17 assists in just 66 league games. He also scored 6 goals in 8 Champions League matches, proving he’s one of the best strikers in Europe right now.

If the deal goes through, Gyokeres will travel with Arsenal’s pre-season squad and could play in their Asia tour against teams like AC Milan, Newcastle, and Tottenham.

Arsenal’s first Premier League game of the season will be against Manchester United at Old Trafford, where Gyokeres might face his former coach, Ruben Amorim.
