Falz, the popular artist, recently caused a lot of talk on social media after he said that having sex before marriage (called fornication) is not a sin. Many people, especially Christians and Muslims, disagreed and used their religious books to argue against him.

In an interview on Arise TV, Falz explained what he really meant. He said his opinion is not from the Christian faith but from something he calls the “religion of love.”

He said, “When people read my tweet, they think I’m talking about Christianity. But I’m not. I follow the religion of love. In this religion, I don’t think fornication is wrong.”

Falz also asked why society and religions say premarital sex is bad.

He explained, “I asked myself, why can’t two unmarried people have sex if they both agree to it? Who does it hurt? I don’t see a problem with it.”
