Renowned Nigerian actor, filmmaker, and director Kunle Afolayan has expressed deep frustration over what he describes as the alarming level of incompetence in the country.

Taking to his Instagram page, Afolayan pointed out the irony of people complaining about unemployment yet failing to deliver efficiently when given job opportunities.

“I am so saddened by the high level of incompetence in our beloved country. A lot of people cry about not having a job, but when they get one, how efficient are they at it? I’m so pissed,” he wrote.

Afolayan’s post sparked widespread debate on his page, with many agreeing that inefficiency in the workforce remains a pressing issue in Nigeria.

His sentiments resonated with several colleagues in the entertainment industry, who flooded his comment section to share similar experiences.

Actress Biola Bayo responded, “Come ask me o. They’ll apply for jobs, call for an interview and won’t show up. The ones you pick will not resume work, or the one who resumes doesn’t want to work.”

Media personality Stephanie Coker also weighed in, saying, “I spent the whole weekend discussing this.”

Comedian and skit maker Kiekie echoed the concerns, writing, “I am screaming!! This!! It’s alarming!! If you have all the money in this world, you’ll still not get results! The spirit of excellence is zero.”
