Man United Open Talks with Wilfred Ndidi Over Shock Transfer

Manchester United have started talking to Nigerian footballer Wilfred Ndidi as they look to sign a new midfielder before the 2025/26 Premier League season.

Ndidi plays for Leicester City, but he is expected to leave after the club got relegated (dropped out of the top league). Reports from Soccernet say United are now the top club trying to sign him.

The 28-year-old midfielder has played for Leicester for many years and has won trophies like the FA Cup, Community Shield, and the EFL Championship.

According to Caught Offside, Ndidi could be available for just £9 million because of a clause in his contract that lets him leave for a lower price after relegation. This makes him a good deal for United.

Even though United signed Manuel Ugarte, the Uruguayan has not been playing well, and the team is looking for someone with more experience. Ndidi is known for being strong in defence and able to play in different positions. He is seen as a safe and smart signing.

Clubs from Germany, Italy, and Spain are also interested in him, but Ndidi is said to be very excited about joining Manchester United and playing at the top level again.

If he signs, he will become the second Nigerian ever to play for Manchester United, after Odion Ighalo, who joined on loan in 2020.
