Marseille Slams Neymar Transfer Talk as ‘Total Nonsense

French football club Olympique de Marseille has said that the news about them trying to sign Brazilian star Neymar is not true at all. They called the story “complete nonsense.”

Some reports, especially from TyC Sports, claimed that Neymar — who is now back playing for his first club Santos in Brazil — wanted to return to France and join Marseille.

Neymar, who is now 33 years old, has been having a hard time lately. Since going back to Santos in January, he’s been dealing with injuries, angry fans, and problems off the pitch.

But someone important from Marseille told Le Parisien newspaper that the club has not talked to Neymar and is not planning to sign him. They are not interested.

Instead, Marseille are working on signing another Brazilian player — Igor Paixão, a 25-year-old attacker from Dutch team Feyenoord. He could join the club this week.

They are also trying to bring back Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is 36, to play for them again.
