Nigeria’s Super Falcons made history again after beating Morocco 3-2 in an exciting WAFCON 2025 final.
The match, played in Rabat, was full of drama as the Falcons came back from 2-0 down to win the game. Esther Okoronkwo scored the first goal for Nigeria, followed by another from Folashade Ijamilusi. Then, in the final minutes, Jennifer Echegini scored the winning goal that gave Nigeria the victory.
With this win, the Super Falcons have now won the WAFCON title 10 times — more than any other team in Africa.
They also received $1 million in prize money, which is double the amount given in the last tournament. This makes Nigeria the first team to win the new WAFCON trophy and enjoy the bigger cash reward.
