Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala has shown love and respect to three former Nigerian footballers — Perpetua Nkwocha, Precious Dede, and Rita Chikwelu — for playing a big role in her football journey.
Speaking on Arise News after Nigeria won the 2025 WAFCON in Morocco, the Bay FC striker said these women made things easier for her in the national team.
“Today, if you search online for top goal scorers, you’ll see Perpetua Nkwocha’s name,” Oshoala said.
“She and others like Precious Dede and Rita Chikwelu opened the door for me and helped me enjoy my time in the Super Falcons.”
Oshoala, now 30 years old, said she was lucky to play with some of them before they retired.
The football star has played for big clubs like Liverpool, Arsenal, and Barcelona. She has also won the CAF Women’s Player of the Year six times — more than any other African woman.
