Osimhen’s Goal Fires Galatasaray to Best League Start in 18 Years

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen made his mark for Galatasaray on Sunday. He scored his first goal for the club in their big 4-0 win against Kayserispor.

The goal came in the 86th minute, making the victory even sweeter for the Turkish champions. This was Osimhen’s first start since joining the club in the summer, and he didn’t disappoint.

Galatasaray are now off to their best league start since the 2007/08 season. They have won their first three matches without allowing any goals — something the team hasn’t done in 18 years.

Before Osimhen’s strike, Eren Elmali had already scored twice — once in the first half and once in the second. Later, Osimhen combined with Mauro Icardi and Nicolo Zaniolo before finishing off Zaniolo’s cross to make it 3-0.

New signing Leroy Sané added the fourth goal in stoppage time to complete the easy win.

This strong start reminds fans of the 2007/08 season, when Galatasaray also began with the same record and later went on to win the league title. Many fans believe history could repeat itself, this time with Osimhen leading the attack.

Next, Osimhen and his teammates will play Rizespor at Rams Park as they try to keep their winning run going.
