Police Launch Investigation Into Alleged Shooting of Broda Shaggi

Popular Nigerian comedian and social media star Samuel Perry, also known as Broda Shaggi, has reportedly been taken to the hospital after he was shot while filming a comedy skit.


The incident happened on Sunday afternoon at the Sango-Ota bridge area in Ogun State. Broda Shaggi was said to be recording a skit with members of his crew when the shooting happened.

According to sources who spoke with Gistmilinaija, the comedian got a gunshot injury during the filming. People who were there quickly rushed him to the hospital to get help.

A police source, who did not want his name mentioned, said Broda Shaggi was filming under the bridge when the incident happened. However, the exact details of how he was shot are still not clear.

“He was shooting a skit under the Sango-Ota bridge when he got a gunshot injury. We are still trying to understand exactly what happened, but his team quickly took him to the hospital,” the source said.

Reports say he was first taken to Blooming Care Hospital in Alakuko, Lagos, where doctors gave him first treatment.

After that, he was moved to Duchess Hospital in Ikeja for more medical care.

Sources say the comedian is currently recovering at the hospital.

When the Ogun State Police Command was contacted, the police spokesperson Oluseyi Babaseyi said the incident had not been officially reported to the police.

He said although the incident was said to have happened in Ogun State, the police command had not received any formal report about it.
