Super Falcons Showered with $100K, Houses, and National Honours by Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given big rewards to Nigeria’s Super Falcons after they won the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

At a special event held on Monday at the State House in Abuja, the President gave each of the 24 players a national award called the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON). This is a very special honour in Nigeria.

But that’s not all! Each player also received:

$100,000 (about ₦150 million)

A fully furnished 3-bedroom house

 

The coaches and technical team were also rewarded with $50,000 each for their hard work.

Before meeting the President, the team was warmly welcomed by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu and the Vice President’s wife, Nana Shettima.

The Super Falcons made the whole country proud after their amazing 3–2 comeback win against Morocco in the WAFCON final. It was Nigeria’s 10th title in the tournament’s history!

Everyone at the event cheered loudly as the rewards were announced. Many people praised President Tinubu for supporting women’s football and encouraging more young girls to chase their dreams.

President Tinubu also promised to keep investing in sports and help more Nigerian talents grow.
