Chelsea’s Gusto Blasts Scorching Conditions: “It Was Hard to Breathe”

Chelsea defender Malo Gusto has said the hot weather made things really hard during their 2-0 win over Fluminense in the Club World Cup semi-final on Tuesday.
After the match, Gusto explained that playing in the 35°C heat with 55% humidity in New Jersey felt like he couldn’t breathe properly.
“It was so hard on the pitch. Breathing was difficult, but we’re happy we got the win and made it to the final,” he said.
Even though there was a heat warning in the area, the game still went on at MetLife Stadium.
Gusto, who helped keep things strong in defence for Chelsea, said the weather made the match one of the toughest he’s ever played. He also spoke about the importance of staying focused, even when it’s hard.
“It’s not easy to play in this kind of heat. But we had to stay strong, stick to our plan, and give everything we had,” he added.
He said the hot weather was hard for both teams, but praised his teammates for fighting through and making it to the final, where Chelsea will play either Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday.
