Ogun to Gain 6,500+ Jobs as New Recycling Plant Launches

A company called Neveah Limited has shared some really exciting news with the people of Ogun State! The company has opened a big recycling factory that will help the environment and, at the same time, create more than 6,500 jobs for people in the state.

The company said this new factory is built to recycle aluminium and copper, two important materials that are used in making things like cooking pots, electric wires, and car parts. Instead of throwing these materials away, the factory will collect them, clean them, and make them useful again. This process is called recycling, and it helps to keep our planet clean.

Neveah Limited made the announcement on Tuesday. Their boss, Mr. Ibidapo Lawal, said the company was happy to start working and hoped to help a lot of people in the community, especially young people who don’t have jobs. He said this recycling factory isn’t just about making products — it’s also about building a better future.

> “This is a big step forward for us,” said Mr. Lawal. “We’re not just making things — we’re also creating thousands of jobs, helping the environment, and showing that Nigeria can do great things in the world.”

What Will the Factory Do?

According to Mr. Lawal, this new factory cost billions of Naira to build. It can recycle more than 44,000 metric tons of used aluminium and copper every year. That’s a huge amount! And from all that recycling, the company expects to earn around $150 million by selling the recycled materials to other countries.

The factory will also help fight climate change by cutting down on pollution. In fact, it’s expected to reduce harmful carbon gases by over 377,000 tons every year — that’s like taking thousands of cars off the road!

How Many Jobs Will Be Created?

Neveah Limited said the recycling project will directly hire 500 workers to work inside the factory. But that’s not all — more than 6,000 other people will also get jobs in other ways, like collecting scrap metal, driving trucks, or supplying materials to the plant. That makes a total of over 6,500 jobs, which is a huge boost to the economy in Ogun State.

Why This Is Great News for Nigeria

The factory doesn’t just help Ogun — it helps all of Nigeria too. The recycled materials meet international quality standards, which means they are clean and good enough to be sold to other countries. This can help Nigeria earn more foreign exchange (money from outside the country), which is very important since the government is trying to grow the economy without relying only on oil.

Mr. Lawal also said this factory shows that Nigeria can be a leader in protecting the environment while growing its economy. The project is part of what’s called the “circular economy” — which means reusing things instead of wasting them.

> “This is not just about recycling,” Mr. Lawal said. “It’s about showing that Africa can lead the way in smart, green, and responsible industries. We are turning waste into wealth.”

Final Words

With this new recycling factory, Ogun State is not just getting jobs — it’s also getting cleaner streets, better opportunities for young people, and a chance to become a leader in green industry across West Africa.

From us at GistMilNija, we say kudos to Neveah Limited for thinking about both people and the planet. Ogun State, get ready for a brighter and greener future!
