Nigerian star striker Victor Osimhen is set to complete his big-money move to Galatasaray, as he is scheduled for a medical test on Thursday, July 31.
According to top football journalist Fabrizio Romano, Osimhen will arrive in Istanbul on Wednesday night. After that, he will take his medical tests and sign his new contract on Thursday.
Osimhen, who was on loan at Galatasaray last season from Napoli, had an amazing year. He scored 37 goals and gave 8 assists in 41 matches across all competitions. His great performance made Galatasaray eager to sign him permanently, even though Saudi club Al-Hilal offered him more money.
Napoli refused to lower their asking price of €75 million, which matches Osimhen’s release clause. Galatasaray agreed to pay €40 million now, and the rest €35 million will be paid by the end of 2026.
The deal also includes €5 million in bonuses and gives Napoli 10% of any future sale. There’s also a special rule in the contract that stops Osimhen from joining another Italian club in the next two years.
Even though the two clubs agreed on the transfer since July 20, the final go-ahead came only after all payments and documents were settled this week.
This move is one of the biggest signings in Turkish football history and brings Osimhen’s four-year journey at Napoli to an end.
