Yemi Solade Explains: The Real Reason I Slapped Afeez Owo on Set

Veteran Nollywood actor, Yemi Solade, has said sorry to fellow actor Afeez Owo for slapping him during a movie shoot many years ago.

According to a report by Gistmilinaija, Yemi made the apology during a chat on the “Behind the Fame – African A-List”podcast. He said the incident happened about 20 years ago while they were working on a movie.

Yemi explained that Afeez was the production manager on the set back then. He got very angry after Afeez accused him of something that wasn’t true. Yemi said he doesn’t like being insulted, and that made him lose his temper and slap Afeez.

In his words:
“Let me say sorry to Afeez Abiodun. I slapped him once. He was the production manager of a movie – I can’t remember the year. We were filming near Ibadan. After we finished, he accused me of something, and I got angry and slapped him in the dark. I didn’t like what I did. Afeez left the location the next morning. So, Afeez, I’m sorry. Please forgive me.”

Yemi also said that not liking insults might be one of his biggest weaknesses.

He added:
“It’s been a long time – about 20 years. I’ve talked to some people about it before, but I want to talk to Afeez directly now. I really don’t like insults, and that’s something I need to work on.”
