Musiala Sidelined for Months After Successful Surgery on Club World Cup Injury

Bayern Munich have confirmed that their star midfielder, Jamal Musiala, had surgery after getting badly injured during a Club World Cup match against Paris Saint-Germain.
The 22-year-old German player got hurt in the first half of the game, which Bayern lost 2-0. Musiala was chasing the ball near the sideline when he collided with PSG defender Willian Pacho and goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. Sadly, his leg got stuck under Donnarumma, and it led to a broken and dislocated ankle, as well as a fractured fibula (a bone in the leg).
Musiala was in so much pain that he had to be carried off the pitch on a stretcher. Many fans were worried after seeing pictures of the injury.
Bayern Munich have now said the surgery was successful. Musiala will start his recovery on Tuesday, but he won’t be able to play for a few months.
In an official statement, the club said:
“Jamal Musiala had successful surgery after getting injured in our game against PSG. He broke a bone and dislocated his ankle. He’ll start rehab soon and won’t play for several months.”
This means Musiala will miss Bayern’s pre-season training and won’t be part of their friendly match against Tottenham on August 7 in the Telekom Cup.
