Ibom Air Owes Her More Than an Apology – Mary Njoku Demands Justice for Passenger’s Dignity

Popular Nollywood actress Mary Njoku has spoken out against Ibom Air after a video went viral showing a woman named Comfort Emmanson being dragged off one of their planes with her chest exposed.

Gistmilinaija reports that Mary Njoku said what happened to Comfort was wrong and very shameful. The incident happened when airline workers removed Comfort from the flight. While Mary agrees that sometimes people need to be taken off a plane, she says there’s no reason for anyone to be stripped or embarrassed like that – especially not on camera.

Mary was upset that the video of Comfort was shared online, saying it was a serious attack on her dignity and self-respect.

She explained that airline staff should act like trained professionals and treat everyone with care. Even when police arrest criminals, they still make sure those people are dressed and not exposed in public. Mary believes airline workers should do even better.

She also said that Comfort deserves to be paid compensation for the pain, shame, and damage done to her image.

In her own words, Mary wrote:
“I understand removing her from the plane, that’s not the issue. What I can’t understand is stripping her while doing so and then putting it all over the internet.

Airline or airport staff are trained professionals, and I refuse to believe that dehumanising someone, stripping a woman naked, and broadcasting it online is part of that training, no matter what crime she may have committed.

I’ve seen police parade even criminals and alleged murderers, and they still ensure those people are dressed and their private parts are covered. Authorities do not parade people naked. How much more should we expect from airline officials? They are not thugs!

While she is being penalised or sent to jail for her actions, she should not be walking away from this alone. She deserves compensation for the damage done to her life and the dignity of every Nigerian woman. Because this is NOT acceptable!!!! Absolutely NOT acceptable!!!”

Mary Njoku is calling for justice and respect, not just for Comfort, but for all women.
