Arsenal Run Riot: Gyökeres Scores First in 5-0 Leeds Mauling

Arsenal had an easy night at the Emirates, beating Premier League newcomers Leeds United 5-0. But the big win also came with some bad news – more injuries before their huge game against Liverpool.

New striker Viktor Gyökeres had a dream home debut, scoring two goals. Defender Jurrien Timber also surprised fans by scoring twice from corner kicks. Bukayo Saka added one more goal but later had to leave the pitch looking hurt.

The youngest story of the night came from 15-year-old Max Dowman, who came on late and won a penalty. Gyökeres scored it to seal the big win.

Still, Arsenal fans have reasons to worry. Captain Martin Ødegaard picked up a shoulder problem in his 200th game, while Kai Havertz is already struggling with a knee issue. That injury was part of why Arsenal spent £60m to steal Eberechi Eze from Tottenham.

Coach Mikel Arteta, who has now spent over £1 billion on new players, showed off Eze before the match alongside other summer signings – Noni Madueke, Gyökeres, Martin Zubimendi, Cristhian Mosquera, and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

So, while Arsenal fans celebrated the goals, the injuries could cause trouble in the games ahead.
