Beating Nigeria Would Make World Cup Ticket Even Sweeter – South Africa GK

Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Sipho Chaine says qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup will feel even more special if South Africa beat Nigeria in Tuesday’s big game.
Chaine, who plays for Orlando Pirates but is backup to first-choice keeper Ronwen Williams, knows how important the match in Bloemfontein is.
“We all know how big this is for our country. Our last World Cup was in 2010, and it has been too long. If we qualify now, after more than 20 years, it will be a great moment,” Chaine told Eyewitness News.
South Africa are currently top of Group C after four wins in a row. A victory over Nigeria’s Super Eagles will book their first World Cup ticket since 2010.
Nigeria, on the other hand, are still fighting for a spot after missing the Qatar 2022 World Cup. They boosted their chances with a 1-0 win over Rwanda last weekend and will be desperate to stop South Africa.
