Nigerian music star Davido has stopped following Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo on Instagram after a private WhatsApp chat between her and someone else was leaked online.

According to Gistmilinaija, the drama started when popular social media critic VeryDarkMan shared screenshots of a chat where Iyabo Ojo was upset with Davido. In the messages, she questioned why Davido was still following Naira Marley, even though he claimed to support the Justice for Mohbad campaign.

In the chat, Iyabo said Davido was not being real and only wanted attention. She said:
“My problem is not even with that black whatever, it is Davido who flew down like he claimed to fight for justice, but he still dey follow Naira Marley. That means he was chasing clout. I’m so disappointed. Just fake love 001.”

This message quickly spread online and got many people talking. Soon after, Davido unfollowed Iyabo Ojo on Instagram.

However, a quick check shows that Iyabo Ojo is still following Davido.

Mohbad, a young Nigerian singer, died in September 2023 under unclear circumstances. His death led to protests and calls for justice all over the country. Many celebrities, including Davido, joined candlelight walks and social media campaigns to support the cause.

Iyabo Ojo was one of the loudest voices during the campaign. She even made a WhatsApp group to help organize the movement. But in a recent interview, she said she regrets asking for Mohbad’s body to be exhumed.
