Popular hypeman Brendan Makuochukwu, also known as BrendanUkaGod, says that being able to connect with people has helped him become more popular in the entertainment world.
In a chat with Saturday Beats, the entertainer from Imo State said that his rise in the industry came from learning how to understand different kinds of people and knowing how to bring good energy to every event
He said, “Being a hypeman is not just about shouting or jumping around. It’s about feeling the crowd, setting the mood, and giving people an experience they’ll remember. My energy and connection with the audience have made people respect me—not just as a hypeman, but as a full entertainment professional. Hypemen add value, and our voices can lead, not just support.”
Brendan has hosted shows both in Nigeria and Cyprus. He also said that people are now starting to see how important hypemen are. He added, “The role of hypemen is growing fast. We are no longer just background noise. With creativity, focus, and professionalism, I’m helping to change the game. Hypemen can be leaders too.”
Right now, Brendan is on his God Mood Tour, and apart from being a hypeman, he also works in digital marketing. He creates content and helps brands grow. This, he says, has helped him stay relevant and support other creatives in the industry.
