Koundé Commits! Barcelona Tie Down Defender Until 2030

Barcelona have made it official — Jules Koundé will be staying at the club until 2030!
The French defender has signed a new long-term contract, ending rumours that he could leave for Manchester City. City were looking at Koundé as a possible replacement for Kyle Walker, but the 26-year-old has decided to stay and continue playing for Barcelona.
Popular football journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that everyone has agreed to the deal, and all the paperwork is done. Everything will be made official very soon.
Koundé’s old contract was supposed to end in 2027, but after a strong season where he played 53 matches and scored 4 goals, including one in the Copa del Rey final win over Real Madrid, Barcelona decided to keep him for even longer.
Right now, Koundé is training with the team during pre-season. Fans can expect to see him play in the Joan Gamper Trophy match against Como on August 10, and also in the La Liga opener against Mallorca on August 16.
Koundé is staying put — and Barcelona fans are loving it!
