A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to call out a church for allegedly selling her mother a single cherry for ₦1,000, claiming it was the “fruit of life.”
In a viral TikTok video, the young woman shows her face alongside the controversial cherry while explaining that her mother, a member of the church, returned home with the fruit and revealed it had been purchased for ₦1,000 at the religious gathering.
Expressing disbelief, she said: “Tell me why my mother would go to church and they’ll sell this thing for ₦1,000 to her—fruit of life?”
She added in frustration: “What is wrong with Africa and this religion thing? They’ve really brainwashed you people.”
Her reaction sparked mixed responses online as the video continued to circulate.
