The Nigeria Police Force has said that a “wanted” poster of popular Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo going around online is fake and not from them.
According to Gistmilinaija, the poster claimed that Iyabo Ojo was wanted by the police and even offered a reward for anyone who helps find her. But the police have now spoken out, saying the poster is not real.
In a post shared on their official Facebook page on Thursday morning, the police made it clear that they did not create or share the poster. They said it is fake, misleading, and never came from any of their official pages.
The police also told Nigerians not to believe or share such false news. They warned people to always check the police’s real social media pages or website before believing anything.
Here’s what their message said:
“FAKE NEWS ALERT! This ‘WANTED’ poster of actress Iyabo Ojo did not come from the Nigeria Police Force. It is false, misleading & was never posted on any official NPF platform. Please ignore it and stop sharing fake news. Always verify from official NPF channels.”
